FYI--
For those who may be considering a new Mac, or even have one and are
thinking about upgrading the OS --
under the new OS (Mavericks) you *must* use iCloud to sync contacts,
calendars, etc. (I think some of the "info" was already required to
be icloud synced.)
No more local sync just to your own computer.

And what really galls some people is that in the notice about upgrading
a current Mac to Mavericks there was *no* mention of this.
Some people have good reasons, not just luddite-ism, not to want to be
forced into putting all their personal notes & contacts & such in a place
they have no control over.
There are even a few comments about Windows now having an *advantage*
over Mac!
But Apple may decide to remove this too, so it's time to think of other
info-syncing methods. <sigh>

My husband has an iPad, iPhone, and PC. He also uses Dropbox and iWriter. I
have a PC and a Mac. I use Pages and,the Cloud.
