[iPad] Downloading apps from iTunes - help

OK...I'm a longtime Mac user, am familiar with most aspects of iTunes, and use it frequently.

However, since I got my iPad2 in November, I'm having some issues downloading apps via iTunes.

When I find an app on iTunes that I want to download, and IF it is specifically for iPad, everything goes smoothly. The app downloads easily from my iTunes to my iPad.

But...if an app is also compatible with iPhone, I'm stuck. The downloaded app shows in my iTunes library as having been downloaded, but the app never shows on my iPad. Am I missing a step somewhere when an app is also useable on iPhone?

I've tried opening the App Store on my iPad to see if there is anything to update, but have had no luck.

Where might these other apps be hiding?

Thanks...

Re: [iPad] Kim Komando's 20 Best IPad Apps

Carlee, have you tried adding "Kimscoolsitereply@lyris.komando.com" to your contacts list?  This is for the "cool site of the day" email she sends out.

Or add "kimnewsreply@lyris.komando.com" for the weekly newsletter.

Maybe that will help!

Linda

I don't have the faintest idea.

Have you tried emailing the site for help?

That's funny -- that happens all the time to me when I play against my
wife! And I know she's not cheating. :-)

[iPad] backgammon

Hi,

I love the game backgammon, but the few apps I've tried have the same problem -- an overzealous rolling program that manages to favor the opponent a majority of the time.  For instance, if he hits me, I can sit out up to 10-15 turns, unable to get back in when only 50% of the bars are covered, while he can come back in after 1-2 rolls.  Or if I double, he suddenly gets a streak of double rolls that pull him into the lead.  And I know if I leave a bar with only one man on it, that will be the roll the opponent will get, just when he has his entire home blocked so I can't get back in until he's halfway off the board (because, of course, I will continue to roll 1s, 2s, and 3s and never the 5s and 6s that are left with one man or even open).

So...does anyone know of a backgammon program that does *not* do this?  One that is fair?  All the ones I see have comments that say things like "this cheats!" and I don't want to go through this again.  It's frustrating enough to make me want to fling the iPad across the room (which, of course, I do not).

thanks,

Carolyn

I noticed the collections problem only when I'd finished a book and wanted to move it from my "Currently Reading" collection to the collection for that author. A further note is that the book I wanted to move from currently reading disappeared from that collection and I found it in a collection my wife had created.

Please keep us posted as to what the solution will be -- it sure is a
caution against using the same computer and same installation of iTunes
for different iPads that are supposed to be independent from each other.
I would think that the different id's of the two iPads would prevent
such stuff from happening.
