You know, I usually buy AppleCare on everything but didn't this time.  

Figures-but if it's a known issue you would think there would have been something offered.  AppleCare or not.

I presume that you did NOT get Applecare+…
Because "not working" within two years of purchase is grounds for an automatic free extended warranty repair or replace.

Are you getting Applecare+ on the 6S?
