Could be your iPad. My current iPad - the most recent - is less responsive to my attempts to highlight text in books I'm reading than the other models I've owned have been. I sometimes have to try several times before the highlighting starts. I seem to remember that Apple made major changes in the way they manufactured the screen for this model. I've halfway assumed that that change is the culprit.
And there can always differences between individual machines, no matter how precisely manufacturing conditions are monitored. Maybe your iPad is even more touch deaf than mine. Why not go to an Apple store or a Best Buy and experiment with their display models?
I DO use a stylus. I find, however, that while I can begin the selection process with the stylus, I need to use my finger to maneuver the dots.
As far as 'practicing' is concerned, I've been 'practicing' for two years now.I just thought maybe there was some special trick I was missing. Or maybe it's just my iPad?Thanks for your suggestions.JoanB
