I suppose any printer can be used, so long as it has a network connection. The question is whether it's worth adding print-server hardware to an old printer. I've never tried, since printers are so inexpensive. If you want to try, tho, check with a knowledgeable retailer - Radio Shack, Micro Center, etc. Best Buy probably won't be of much help with this.
My HP 8500 works beautifully wifi with my iPad, iPhone, iMac, and a PC. Via an app.

I overlooked askIng a second question in my prev mail. So would someone advise me re a printer. I normally use 7600series HP with my PC love it but realise it isn't much use for iPad? Any help much appreciated. Maureen
