Depends on the case! No problem on mine - there are cut outs.
I get your point - wouldn't be as likely to use mute in that situation, (for movies) either. I use mute to avoid unintentional noise - typing sounds, alerts, websites that auto-play videos, things like that, especially at night, when hubby is trying to sleep. I don't want mute to pause, I just want to make everything quiet, so that it doesn't disturb. I did and still do just hold the rocker switch down to get that done.
